Foundation Laying Ceremony of Kattike Deurali Health centre

Dhulikhel Hospital is a community-based hospital that continuously strives to provide quality health care to rural people. The hospital has established a total of twelve outreach centres in different parts of rural Nepal, including Kattike Deurali Health Centre. The Kattike Deurali Health Centre is situated in the Eastern part of Kavre District and it was established in the Nepali year 2064 (March 4, 2006). Since the hospital does not have its own building, it has been providing services through one of the training halls of Prabha Secondary School. The community has provided this hall free of cost to the hospital. This reflects the trust and co-operation of local people towards the hospital.

For many years the hospital has been trying to build its own facility so that the program can run. On January 18th 2012 the hospital successfully celebrated the Foundation Laying Ceremony of the Kattike Deurali Health Centre. The most inspiring part of the story is that the land for the construction of building was provided by the local people themselves. The chief guest of the programme was Dr. Suresh Raj Sharma, the Vice Chancellor of Kathmandu University.  The programme was successfully completed in the presence of Dr. Rajendra Koju, the Administrative Director of Dhulikhel Hospital, as well as many other delegates from different organizations and many of the local community people. The creation of this new health centre strengthens the presence of Dhulikhel Hospital in rural communities and allows for a more sustainable relationship with the people of Kattike Deurali.
