INTRODUCTION
The Health Science Certificate in General Medicine is guided by the foundational concept of primary health, the illness continuum, health promotion and prevention. The purpose of this program is to educate human resources of health to work with individuals, family groups and communities in a variety of settings guided by primary health care prospective.
Aim
To produce competent, compassionate and independent Health Assistant who can carry out professional responsibilities effectively and efficiently in various health care settings including research activities

- To acquire competencies in identifying and resolving community health problems
- To develop basic clinical skills to diagnose and manage minor health problems of his/her patients
- To develop personal characteristics and attitude required to carry out professional responsibilities

Limited scholarships are available for the needy students. Beside limited scholarship schemes, there is provision for Educational Loan scheme too.

Awards are awarded to excelling students on the basis of their academic merit in each course and also to those who show excellent performance in Extra Curricular Activities.
