INTRODUCTION
Certificate in Health Science (Laboratory Technology) was started at Dhulikhel Medical Institute in 1998 AD with the aim to produce laboratory technicians. During 3 years training, students are expected to achieve theoretical and practical knowledge along with the laboratory skills.
Aim
To produce competent, compassionate and independent Laboratory Technicians with capability to carryout professional responsibilities effectively and efficiently in various health care settings including research activities
Objectives
- To develop basic laboratory skills to diagnose and manage minor health problems
- To develop personal characteristics and attitude required to carry out professional responsibilities
- To enable to work in variety of health care settings
- To provide core knowledge, integration and self directed learning
Future plan
- To start Bachelor of Medical Laboratory Technology (BMLT)
- To start Masters in Allied Health Science.

Certificate level:
SLC minimum second division with Math Science and English or equivalent
degree
Scholarships
Limited scholarships are available for the needy students. Beside limited scholarship schemes, there is provision for Educational Loan scheme too.
Awards
Awards are awarded to excelling students on the basis of their academic merit in each course and also to those who show excellent performance in Extra Curricular Activities.
